This connection is rusted and is in need of repair. I am wondering if this is something I as a novice could do myself, of if a pro needs to do it? I do have basic pipe and welding skills, but on much smaller pipe than exhaust pipe

I recommend a shop that specializes in exhaust. It is more than you can handle since you have no experience.

Thank you, it looked easy to me, and I guess that is why you are the experts. If I did get brave, and decided to tackle it myself, what would I need to do?

Replace both the before pipe and after. Bolts and nuts get rusty and need special attention.

Try the site howstuffworks. Com. They have a lot of good views for this. Walker exhaust. Com will show you views of the needed pipes.
