Why is car losing speed?

Since yesterday my Chevy Cavalier RS is only going 40 miles an hour, what is wrong?

Have you checked the transmission oil level, check for any set fault codes with a scan, report any codes her for further assistance.

Yes, I put in transmission oil. Don't know about fault codes.

You can get a free scan at any of the larger parts stores, make sure that they check engine & transmission codes.
