Why my 94 cadillac deville headlights, dash, and dimmer switch only work sometimes? Why my headlights and inside light flicker while on? It has funny smell at certain times. Check fuses and light bulbs they're in great condition.

You need to perform test to locate the source of the problem.

If the flash to pass light works, problem would most likely be a failing headlight switch that intermittently fails to work.

The lights flickering indicates contact is not good and it couls also be a bad grounding circuit for the headlight switch. Check the gounding point for the headlight switch for looseness and contaminations, Remove, clean and reinstall to test. ( Located at upper portion of left kick panel).
