Door does not close

The driver side door of my 1994 Buick century 4 door does not close cleanly. I want to adjust it so it does but do not know how. If you just close it loosely it hits the spot between the front and back doors. It eventually closes but I would like to fix it myself if I could.

The driver side door does not close tightly. When you try to close it the door hits the column between the back and front door. If you slam it it will close. I would like to adjust it so it fits better. All ideas for adjustment are acceptable. None of the other doors do this.

I LOVE this site :-)

There could be two reasons why the door is not closing, the first reason is that bushings are worn or the hinges are bent. You can take a floor jack with a 2x4 on the very edge of the door and jacket it up and banned the hinges of the door closes correctly.
