I have a Mazda 626 cronos, 1993. I have changed the fuel filter and pump, and the car just won't turn over, it wants to but it won't, any suggestion on what it could be. Thanks

I changed them because the fuel pump had gone and we were driving it, and it wouldn't start after a 1000km, so we changed the filter. Its not the starter as my mechanic looked it over.

So what exactly do you mean wont start? Spins over but dont run? I'm a little confused on sequence of events. New pump then would not start after 1000k on odometer so filter was changed and it was no help? Can you hear pump run? Can you check for fuel pressure? Is it a throttle body or multiport injection?

Fuel injectors, my mechanic thinks fuel pump again as it sat for 8+ months before it was changed, then ran 1000km on it. Can hear pump turn on when key is turned. Going to check fuel pressure later on this evening when hubby gets home.
