If the charcoal cannister is full of fuel and leaking into the vent box connected to the charcoal cannister then over flowing on the Ground cxreating a dangerous hazzard, What do you do next? For now I put a rubber plug over the charcoal cannister bottom vent hose connector. The fuel quit dripping but the car runs terrible. What do I look for?

The motor is pumping fuel into the vacuum lines most likely form the fuel pressure regulator. That will fill the cannister. When the repair is done, it will have to be replaced.
