Does not stay running!

I cleaned the IAC valve the car starts but doesn't stay running. If I hit the accelerator it turns off. Why is this happening what am I doing wrong.

I doubt you have done anything wrong. Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Does the engine run smoothly when it is at an idle?
