THE VERY 1ST THING YOU NEED TO DO IS HAVE YOUR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CHECKED INTO (MEANING, YOUR COMPUTER HAS SPIT OUT A CODE, AND YOU NEED TO RETRIEVE IT) I DO NOT KNOW YOUR SITUATION, BUT AUTOZONE AND ADVANCE AUTO (OTHERS TOO) WILL "CODE YOU" FOR FREE! When I was in a bind once, the Manager at Autozone (I only knew, thru getting parts frequently), Stopped by my house late, after he got off work and Coded the Wife's dead car. The next day he got on the "Zone Computer" and got the Code definitions, and he sold me the correct Thing-a-ma-bober to fix it! WHAT A DEAL! I SLIPPED BY WITHOUT BUYING A SCANNER! I HAVE ONE NOW, IF YOU ARE GONNA CONTINUE TO MESS WITH A COMPUTER CAR FOREVER.A SCANNER WOULD NOT BE A BAD INVESTMENT, YOUR CAR SCREAMS OUT, "I GOTTA PROBLEM" EVERY TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.
