1993 cherokee 4.0L auto 4x4. Trani started shifting strange (delayed shifting shifting) and a noticed change in idle. On my way home the next day, while getting on Interstate, RPM's reved just past 4000 before shifting. Check engine light came on, but jeep miraculously repaired itself. Ran great all the way home. Oil pressure and temp good, engine light remained on. Tried to restart but now won't. Turn over but no starty.
Trani fluid level ok, nuetral switch seams to be working properly. HELP?

Others are welcome to jump in here! Saw you needed assistance, so I will try! I do not know a lot about your vehicle, but I have learned quite a bit here. THE VERY 1ST THING YOU NEED TO DO IS HAVE YOUR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CHECKED INTO (MEANING, YOUR COMPUTER HAS SPIT OUT A CODE, AND YOU NEED TO RETRIEVE IT) I DO NOT KNOW YOUR SITUATION, BUT AUTOZONE AND ADVANCE AUTO (OTHERS TOO) WILL "CODE YOU" FOR FREE! When I was in a bind once, the Manager at Autozone (I only knew, thru getting parts frequently), Stopped by my house late, after he got off work and Coded the Wife's dead car. The next day he got on the "Zone Computer" and got the Code definitions, and he sold me the correct Thing-a-ma-bober to fix it! WHAT A DEAL! I SLIPPED BY WITHOUT BUYING A SCANNER! I HAVE ONE NOW, IF YOU ARE GONNA CONTINUE TO MESS WITH A COMPUTER CAR FOREVER.A SCANNER WOULD NOT BE A BAD INVESTMENT, YOUR CAR SCREAMS OUT, "I GOTTA PROBLEM" EVERY TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. COURSE YOU COULD DO WHAT I DID, TWICE ALREADY NOW.I HAVE THE FELLER(S) IN NEED, TAKE ME OUT TO LUNCH, AFTER I CODED THEM! I DO NOT JUST "LEND" STUFF LIKE THAT OUT, I FOUND OUT LONG AGO, OTHER PEOPLE DO NOT READ DIRECTIONS/ FOLLOW DIRECTIONS/ OR CARE ABOUT MY STUFF, AS I DO!THIS "LUNCH THING" COULD OFFSET THE PRICE OF THE SCANNER OVER TIME.--YOUR TURN--THE MEDIC
