Transfer case stuck in 4 wheel lo in 93 Isuzu Rodeo with manual transmission. This happened after rear end blew up. Rear end and axle replaced with correct parts. Today I popped it out of 4 wheel lo and now it's not in any position. When I put vehicle in first gear and let clutch out, it feels like all the brakes are locked down and motor stalls out. Old man living in the woods of Colorado. Desparate for transportation. Grateful for any help that reduces the muck around time out there. It's 16 below zero today.

Transfer gear is manually activated and from what you have described, seems the transfer gears are lock due to more than one gear being engaged. Shift back to 4WD Low and test if problem goes away.

Remove the 4WD gear ahift and check for damaged bushings resulting in the gear shift not being seated correctly and the inability to shift out of 2WD Low and instead shifting into another gear.

Thanks for going to the trouble. I drove it about a mile in 4 wheel low to see if transfer case would shift. Many bad noises right before it locked up snd wouldn't move. Had to remove drive shaft to tow it home. Next stop, the wrecking yard. Thanks again.

Guess the transfer case is shot internally and would require replacement or rebuilding.
