My 93 Isuzu Rodeo (4WD 3.2L) is making a clicking sound. It is louder than a lifter and appears to be coming from underneath the passenger side timing cover.

After removing the radiator, fan, fan housing, some hoses, and the timing cover I could see that the timing belt was loose. I had my dad turn the car over a few times to see if the belt was hitting the cover. It was and I also noticed that the hyrdolic PushPin tensioner was stuck and when the belt flopped and wobbled it was causing the tensioner to rock thus creating the clicking noise. I have order a new part kit for it that should correct the issue.

A loose belt could have resulted in the belt skipping tooth and caused major damages if the skipping had gone more than a tooth or 2.

Lucky thing you caught it in time.
