1993 Infiniti J30 Car idles rough

My J30 idles rough and idles rougher when I put it in gear, but runs pretty good when driving. I changed the spark plugs but still a bit rough on the idle. What are possible problems that could be causing this?

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge first. Autoparts rent gauge

I've got a friend who checked the code for me - no code showing up. He says it's a short somewhere. Does this make sense? Could a short cause a motor to idle rough. It isn't going to rattle apart, but it isn't quite right and sputters when you accelerate from a stand still. Once up to speed it's ok.

Check fuel pressure and for a vacuum leak like I said in first reply which you didn't say you did.
