I have a 1998 GMC Safari 4

I have a 1998 gmc safari 4.3 v6 with 80,000 mi. On it and auto. Transmission. What would I need to change, to place this engine and transmission in my 1993 gmc sonoma pickup truck that has a 4.3 v6 already? Would really appreciate some good advice. THANKS ernie2012

You are going from obd 2 to obd 1

the motor from the 98 will have to be stripped to long block and all the externals from the 93 will have to be installed on the motor.

The trans may be an issue as it is computer controlled in 98, not 93.

Since my sonoma and safari both have the 4L60E auto. Trans., Why would this be a problem? Don't both shift by electronic command from the computer. THANKS ernie2012

Make sure the connector on the trans is the same. I believe it is on the passenger side front of trans
