4l60e transmission

I have a 1993 gmc jimmy 4x4 4.3 w engine code with the 4l60e trans I was looking for a replacement trans and have found out that it is 1993 s series only with two different trans codes TAD and THD can I use a trans out of some thing else or what is the difference between the two trans codes

You can use a turbo 350 with the small bellhousing.

Is there any other 4l60e that I can use or do I have to use the one that is coded the same as the one in my truck

You can use another one. It does not have to be the one in the truck. Trans shops swap out units all the time.

What is the difference between the two trans codes besides TAD being 1st gen and THD being 2nd gen
