1993 Geo Metro oil leak

The engine leaks oil from the bottom of the engine somewhere. It happened all of a sudden and it it squirts out or gushes out. The top of the engine is clean. What could the problem be and is it easily fixed?

Wash down, and run to check for the leak, check the very front of the engine and where the gear box bolts on, see if the leak is prominent there. Check the oil pressure sender switch and check that the oil filter is tight (another common place for a bad oil leak).
