The problem is am having is that my truck feels like it has no power at all and it will no go faster that 60 MPH on highway so in town it does not go very fast at all with the stop and go constantly. We have changed the spark plugs but that did not help. My dad is a former mechanic and he can not figure out what is wrong with it. I would appreciate it much if you could help. Thank you

Has the timing belt ever been replaced? If this is the correct mileage, have you checked engine compression? Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Have you checked to see if the catalytic converter is plugged?

Hi,

What you described sounds like the clutch is slipping. Are the RPMs increasing and the truck not accelerating?

Let me know.

Joe

No, it just gets to a top speed of like 65 MPH and that's it no matter how hard I push the gas the RPMs will not go up, it just stays at 2 or 3 RPMs at 65 MPH.

I had a 1995 Ford Ranger a few years ago, which had a similar problem. It had no get up and go. With all the vacuum lines I found that one had a crack, and it was not getting a vacuum. I used wire dry and sprayed it on the engine a little area at a time but found the leak. Not sure that is happening to you but worth the try.
