Well not long ago we bought a 1993 ford ranger super cab 4.0 when we got it the fuel gauge stayed below empty. When I go to start it the fuel gauge goes all the way past full then slowly drops back below empty when their is gas in the truck. What do I need to check or do to fix this problem thanks!

You need to ground out the fuel sender wire but I can't find a color of the wire the fuel pump is pink/blk our diagrams don't list a fuel sender. If it gets power and yhou ground it the gauge should go to full if not it's a gauge problem which may be the whole dash needs to be rebuilt.
