Removal & Installation (Probe)

1.
Support engine with Three Bar Engine Support (D88L-6000-A). Raise vehicle and remove front tires. Disconnect both outer tie rod ends from knuckle. Remove front splash shields.
Remove transverse member. Remove transaxle cradle. On 2.5L, disconnect oxygen sensor connectors. Disconnect catalytic converter pipes from exhaust manifolds. Disconnect power
steering lines from steering gear.
Remove rear engine mount-to-transaxle bolts. Remove rear motor mount. Remove steering gear mounting brackets. Remove intermediate shaft-to-pinion bolt. On manual transaxle, disconnect
extension bar from transaxle.
On all models, position transmission jack under front crossmember. Remove crossmember bolts. Remove stabilizer bar-to-stabilizer control link nuts. Lower front crossmember. Remove steering
gear from driver side of vehicle. To install, reverse removal procedure.
