Having extremely loud snapping sound coming from what sounds like, the right front end when breaking.

When ever I break, there is VERY loud snapping/popping sound coming from right front end. Also happens whenever I go in reverse. It's 2-wheel drive, so it's not the CV-joint, at least that's what I have been told. Apparently, only the 4-wheel drive trucks have CV-joints. Maybe the upper control arms, or ball? How can I personally diagnose the issue, & possibly repair myself in order save expenses?

Yes, I took the wheel off & compared each side looking for any differences, but found none. Then randomly started checking every bolt/nut I could find & found a few that seemed a bit loose and tightened them. At first the problem did go away for about a day, but now it's back. Any suggestions.

Recheck bolts? They make a suspension microphone system for finding noises. You may be able to rent 1 or rig your own?
