While changing the rocker arm and rocker arm shaft I dropped a bolt and had to remove the intake manifold. After removing the bolt I cannot get the intake manifold back on. The two outboard bolts seem to have something in the way or blocking them. I've tried blowing them out and brake cleaner. The holes are too shallow. I am at a loss because I took them off so they DID fit before. Any advice would be so very much appreciated.

Thank you so much for your reply! It actually turned out to be operator error (shocking I know!). Somehow he let trash and oil seep into it. It is cleaned out and okay now. Again thank you for your advice. Please send happy mechanic vibes our way! :)

To clarify - the trash got into the bolt holes (for lack of a better term). So no damage was done other than time and frustration.
