I removed and replaced the strut assembly. On this model, the upper support spacer on the top of the spring is wedge shaped (one think side and one thin side). I seem to have gotten them rotated but I don't know which is correct. Which way should the thinner side point?

I don't see any specific installation instructions on these. They may be part of the alignment and can go either way. Put them in how they seem best and have an alignment done or call a local alignment shop for their advice on this. An alignment should be done after major front end work anyway

It would seem to me that the thin side would go away from the engine causing the strut assembly to be sloped outward (further from the engine) at the bottom where it attaches to the steering knuckle. The first one I installed had the taper toward the engine and I was able to get it connected up with some effort.
I doubt this is something that can be adjusted by an alignment since it is at the top of the strut and under compression from the spring though I do plan to get an alignment.

But on second look, maybe the opposite is true. The spring is almost vertical with the thin side toward the engine but tilts significantly where the thin side is away from the engine.
