For a while now (over the past 12 months), the petrol gauge needle on my 1992/93 NC II Fairlane Ghia would suddenly drop to empty, then gradually climb back up to its previous position.
This happened regardless of whether I'm using LPG or petrol (the car is dual fuel).
Now, the gauge doesn't operate at all, although the trip computer still operates so I have at least good warning before either of the tanks runs dry.
My question is: is it possible to replace the faulty fuel gauge in the instrument cluster, or do I have to replace the entire cluster? Is the fuel gauge even repairable?
have the same problem?
