Can you put a '96 5.7 350 motor in a '92 Chevy Truck?

I blew up the motor in my '92 truck and a guy will sell me a '96 motor for a good price. He said it will fit in the '92 but I wasn't sure.

You may have to change the heads, as they changed bolt size and reduced the amount. You probably have tbi and it has cfi. So you would need to bolt your heads and tbi unit so you wouldn't have to change the
computer.

Ya that part is no problem you'll just have to change teh upper part of the motor for it to work. You might have to replace the bolts holding the trans to the engine, it's been a while so i'forgot if they went to metric on that or not.
