How do you jack the motor up on a 1992 Cadillac.

How do you jack the motor up on a 1992 Cadillac Deville. I just need a few inches of room. The motor sits sideways on this car. Which is a pain. I only have a 2 ton floor jack and I have a 4x4 wood. So that is no problem. Thanks.

Unbolt the engine mounts, wood on the jack and lift on the oil pan

I would not recommend jacking up the engine that way since it might damage the oil pan or cause it to leak I could be wrong but I dont think that any oil pan is designed to support the weight of an engine. It would be much better to secure the engine with chains, and rent a engine hoist to raise the engine, also at that time the spark plugs at the rear of that sideways mounted engine can be replaced as well
