1992 Cadillac Deville fuel data center light

The light in the fuel data center and the shift lever are not working, the little wire in the ground cable had a plug, both plugs are broken too, so I hook them together and taped them up but the lights still did not come on. What can I do

If you can dig around in those parts and find any bulbs look at them for darkness or discoloration. Otherwise look and see what makes it illuminate and see if that has any burn discoloration on it
