The air keeps getting into the radiator

And the pipes keep building up pressure and now there is a tapping noise in the top of engine. We bled the water system and then drove it and the water started circulating properly for a few hours and then we checked the pipes again and they were hard again and there was air in the system and then a tapping noise like hydraulic tappets clicking, the noise was coming and going can you help

First of all it is completely normal for the cooling system hoses to get hard. They are all under pressure when your engine is hot.
If there is air in your system it is because you have a leak somewhere. The first thing that you need to do is to find where it is leaking. Any good repair shop can do a cooling system pressure test.
