I found on my 89 Ceria that I had two faulty injectors, one on each side of the engine. Injectors were out of OHM spec. That faulty caused the ECM to become come confused and shut down all the injectors. Turns out these OBD 1 systems are very sensitive to the OHM ratings. The left and right side of Injector systems have separate grounds. Any OHM fault on eighter one side can effect all the injectors on that same side. My car had one OHM faulty injector on both the left and the right side. So now that affected all of the injectors on both sides. ECM could not handle the wild conflicts of the information and simply shut down and stopped sending the signals to the injectors. Check the OHM specs on all the injectors. Depending on which engine you have, you can unplug each injector and check the OHM specs. If any injectors are out of spec they will need to be replaced.

I chased this same issue on my own car. I decided to replace all the injectors because they were all old. Once I replaced them. Everything cleared up. But you should confirm fuel pressure first. My was good. My engine is the 2.8L MPFI. I happen to be checking fuel rail pressure when it quit running. I sprayed Berrymens B12 into the intake just see if it running on that as a fuel source. It ran as long as I kept spraying. Then I knew for sure it was a fuel issue. On the 2.8L you c a only see the wires on only the #5 injector only. You have to remove the upper intake manifold to gain access to the other injectors. A HINT: On my car I discovered that #1 & #2 spark plugs looked like new, no dark coloring like the other 4 plugs. Because those two injectors were barely working because they were out of OHM spec. Checking the plug condition might reveal a possible clue. No
