1991 Mercedes Benz 500sl high idle

When I try to start vehicle I have to turn key half way turn airconditoner off because it comes on by itself once I turn air conditioner to off I then can start car once started it goes to 2000 rpms in park I turn air on it drops to 1500 rpms when I put it into drive it drops to 700 rpms after 5 minutes of idling my temp gauge reads 90 celcius I just changed idle air control valve but no help

If that is the Mercedes mechanical injection you got problems, other than that I would check for a vacuum leak pull the air cleaner off make sure all the vacuum lines are in good condition and connected
