1991 Ford Ranger skiping

Hello I have a 1991 ford ranger xlt 4x4 that has a slight skip between 1000 - 2000 rpm what could it be it has an automatic transmission and the odometer reads 77000 miles but im not sure if thats the actual milage hope to hear back soon thanks for your help

I was told it was a head gasket could that be it?

Usually a head gasket will be noticed all the time and not just at one RPM. There is a slight chance that is an issue, but I question it. Before having the repair made, I would get another opinion and have it checked.

That is a hard question to answer not knowing the true problem. If it is a head gasket, I would suspect it would be more than that amount.
