My dodge stealth with a Mitsubishi 6G72 engine is spraying oil near the distributor cap, what could be wrong?

I started it up, it made a weird noise, kept going and checked the oil guage, and it hadn't moved since I started it, shut it off and pushed it back to the parking spot.

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge to rule out the oil pressure switch and oil pump

Check the valve cover and also the distributor
