1991 Dodge Dakota idle control motor

I just replaced my idle control motor but I did not diconnect the negative battery before I did it, I adjusted the idle screw once to set a good idle, will computer get used to new motor, or should I disconnect the negative battery cable for awhile to reset the computer of old memories, or does it adjust on its own.

T above 30 mph it will set on it's own
