1991 Chevy Silverado 350 ci after removing valve covers I noticed that passenger side had way more gunk and sludge than the driver side. What would cause that? Leaking coolant at back of intake manifold so going to change valve cover gaskets while I have it apart. That is when I noticed how much more sludge and gunk on passenger side under valve covers.

Comes from lack of manitenance. You need to scrape out all the sludge and open up the 2 return holes on either end. Do not let any dirt go down to the pan as it may clog the pick up screen and will starve the engine of oil.
