Will a gm 5l50 or 6l50 transmission fit a gm 4.3l v6 engine?

Gm has no 5150 06150 transmissions it's either a 4L60 or 4L80 for your year

Gm does have a 5L50 transmission as well as a 6L50 transmission. Im asking if they will fit not what transmission came with it.

What are they out of as I've never even heard of those model transmissions. And I worked on transmissions in engineering for 20 some years

In answer to your question it would have to be same length as well as bolt pattern which means if it came out of a 305/350 it would bolt up however the torque converter would need to be for a 4.3L due to balance otherwise it would shake like heck when running.

Correction after looking this model up on line this is a electronic controlled trans which will need a computer to operate it. Yours is obd1 and the 5L50 is OBD2 unless you have a computer for it won't work at all. The model Cadillac that this was used on does not have the same bolt pattern either.
