High beam

91 Fleetwood, FWD High beam stalk wont engage the high beams anymore.

How diffucult is this to fix and what is needed to take this apart? Thanks

Do the lamps toggle, but just don't lock on? Are the headlamps on when this happens, if not it is flash to pass. The concern could be as little as a loose dimmer switch, or lost adjustment. The linkage rod from the column down to the switch could have came dislodged, or there could be a problem in the column. Steering column work requires quite a few special tools, like a steering wheel puller, a lock plate compressor, if it is telescopic you will need a set screw to lock it. The dimmer switch is mounted external on the lower part of the column by the ignition switch. Is there any looeness in the column, it may have contributed to the concern. Usually a result of the lower bowl retainers coming loose, or the tilt pins backing out.
