Do you have to remove the transaxle in order to pull the engine from a 1990 subaru legacy EJ22?

Not necessarily, but you can remove the axles and pull it out with the tranny in place-Your choice

If at all possible Id like to keep the axles connected, the trouble or concern I have at the moment is locating the (Engine to Tranny) top bolts.I think there are 2 on top and 2 on the bottom. Along with a few studs that serve to line it up. The haynes service manual doesnt really give me pinpoint pics. Thanks for the reply!
