I was driving car and lost all power. I can feel a slight jump when shifting into Drive or Reverse, but car won't move. In Park or Neutral I can hear a metal scraping sound from transmission. Transmission fluid level is fine.
Speedometer does not not indicate any speed if revving engine in D or R. Could this be just the torque converter as opposed to transmission?

Scraping sounds aren't good it may be the converter but it also could be the oil pump which the converter turns. Sounds like a rebuild is in order see a trans guy

And 24 yrs old. If it's not working and you hear scraping probably something disintegrated inside and put it all thorugh your trans making it unable to work. 700R4's were bad on pumps.
