In my 1990 Nissan SE V6 pickup, I replaced the passenger side power window regulator. Everything worked fine post installation. I attached the window and began to power the window up. It bound, and while I tried to adjust window, I heard a clicking sound coming from behind the passenger fire wall. I switched the window switch off, but still heard the clicking. I turned the ingnition switch off from accessory. The clicking stopped. Turned on the ignition to accessory, and no power to the window, no clicking. I notice the dome light was on about half power, and key-in-the-ignition bell was also weak. Engine would not start.

I discoverd the battery had only about 6V on it. I disconnected the Pos. Batt. Cable and the batt. Came back up to 12V. Short I thought, but why? I checked to see if the pos. Cable was shorted to ground it is. I separated the fuse link coupling from the main cable; main cable not shorted but both power feeds at the fuse link show short to ground. I disconnected the window controller, the unmarked relays and the relays marked Main, Check, to isolate the apparent short and it is still shows continuity to ground.

Can't seem to locate the auto. Window fuse, or relay or circuit brkr to see if that the cause. Don' know if wire in harness could have overheated and fused? I'm at a loss.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

There is a circuit breaker on the left side of dash for that and ignition relay on right side of dash. There is also a power window amplifier on the right kick panel. Best thing to do is place another circuit breaker in one of the offending wires. If it starts to break then you've found which circuit to go to. The ground wire is in the left kick panel so check that as well to make sure it has a good ground. Don't forget everything goes through teh drivers door switch as that is the master. So it can be anywhere in the system. One thing to check is broken or frayed wires where doors open and harness comes through, that a is very comon for those to break and fray.
