1990 Nissan Sentra lifters are tapping

1990 Nissan Sentra mileage: 138,000 and the lifters are tapping. I want to tighten them myself and I cannot remember how. I know they have to be a certain tightness and all that. Could you please help me out?

Your engine is equipped with hydraulic lifters. No adjustments are required. You may have some worn valve train components that are causing the tapping sound.
