When it acts up, stop on a slight incline, push in the clutch, release the brake, and see if the car creeps down hill on its own. If it doesn't, open the front bleeder screws or the steel lines at the master cylinder. The idea is to see where the brake fluid is being trapped or if the calipers are sticking.
If opening the bleeder screws doesn't release the brakes, the calipers are sticking and should be replaced as a pair.
