Why do my headlights randomly blink after the truck has been on for a while.

OK.I fixed the tail lights being out which ended up being a bad ground on the rear frame that ground the wiring harness for the rear lights to the frame. Now the headlights blink. Not automatically. But after the truck has been on for a while and there is not pattern to them blinking. I am lost because I checked the light switch and it works fine. Can some one who has more experience than me point me in the right direction?

They blink because the circuit breaker in the headlight switch is kicking on an doff due to a short inthe system someplace. You have a wire shorted out someplace hitting ground and causing this. If it only does it with the headlights on check that circuit in front. If it does it with parking lights on then you have to check the whole circuit.
