Check the starter for draw and what does it do when it wont' start? Does it click or anything like that it's possible that you have a bad cable going to starter but first check these two fusible links, in pic they may be burnt and not letting the battery charge. They should be connected to relay on fenderwell. Then do the starter checks to seeif relay is getting power to engage or if relay is any good as well.

If it turns over slow and the battery is good then itmay be the starter if you can take it off most auto parts can check it.

MANY POPULAR AUTO PARTS STORES....LIKE ADVANCE AUTO, CAN CHECK THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, STARTER DRAW, AND PARASITIC DRAW (SOMETHING OTHER THAN RADIO MEMORY, ETC BEING "ON" AND DRAWING POWER...THAT SHOULD NOT BE ON)

THIS CAN ALL BE DONE WITH EVERYTHING STILL ON THE VEHICLE!... A LOT OF THE TIME, THIS IS A FREE SERVICE ....SEE PIC 1

THIS IS A SIMPLE TEST...YOU CAN DO, TO SEE IF JUICE FROM THE ALTERNATOR IS GETTING TO THE BATTERY (CHARGING)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzz7P3qNHcE

THIS DOES NOT TEST AMPS AND LOADS LIKE THE ONE AT THE PARTS STORE

OK, HERE'S THE ONE THAT I SEE MOST OFTEN AS CAUSING THE PROBLEMS......NORMALLY "NO STARTS".....BUT SLOW STARTS COULD FALL INTO THIS CATEGORY TOO!

https://www.2carpros.com/questions/1996-chevrolet-tahoe-wont-start-sounds-dead-battery-jumpbox-get-same-reults

OTHER THAN THAT........I'D HAVE TO GO WITH A "DYING STARTER"..........HOWEVER, IF A NEW ONE DOES THE SAME THING....IT'S "TOUGH LOVE" TIME AGAIN!

REPORT FINDINGS.....MAYBE NOT SPEND ANY MONEY!

LEMME KNOW WHAT STATE YOU LIVE IN (OR A NEARBY ZIP CODE) BEFORE YOU BUY A NEW STARTER!!!
