Codes 26 & 27 show up as a short on cylinder 3

Misfires bad has new plugs and wires, good fire to all cylinders but 3 would that be cap and rotor? New plug, wires, and fuel filter

Check compression. It should be well over 100 PSI and not vary by more than 15% highest to lowest.

If the compression is low in one or more cylinders, put about a teaspoon of light oil into the cylinder and check again. If the compression comes up, you have bad piston rings. If not, you most likely have bad valves and either need to replace one or both, or need to have a valve job performed.

Ok thank you and do you think the cap androter can be bad and would it cause this problem also
