1988 cavalier ran fine parked for 1 week will crank but not start. Cant see fire on any plug wires at this time. Changed plugs and wires, still nothing. Looking at the ICM or coil assembly. If 1 of the 2 coils are bad will the good one still show fire and also would the coil ground strap if bad stop me from getting fire. One last thing if the CKP is bad would this stop the spark plugs from firing. Any help would be great before I start to pull everything apart and purchase items that are not needed.

Changed the CPS and still no spark from any plug. This car ran out standing. So next question, can 2 coil packs go bad at once I would thing that I would at least get fire to 2 plugs if one coil was bad. Should I be thinking ignition module plate that the 2 coils set on. Any ideas would be great this is a major job on this car and the location. Any thing else I could check 1st.
Thanks

Ok, checked the computer for any codes with the paper clip way. The only code was 12 that kept repeating. Did some more checking and investigating and seen were this ECC controls all systems and can cause the car to crank but that's it. I have no spark and no fuel Do you know if this box can be checked at a dealer ship to see if good or bad. I have a gent that I know that woks at a dealer ship and would help me out if I ask him. I see and have read were they do go bad and have the same symptoms I have. Your thoughts please before I disconnect and ask him for help
