About 110000 miles on it. I will be starting a job soon that is 33 miles out of town and don't want to break down between transit. The other day when driving down the freeway I noticed the coolant fan temp light coming on and off and continued to flicker. I have been noticing it drinking a lot of coolant up but with no noticeable signs of leaking. I read another post from a different website and heard about holding down the off and warmer buttons on the climate control to get diagnostic codes. When doing this I got : (8.8.8)(..E)(E30)(.7.0) Any insight on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

These didn't have the greatest motors and are known for head gasket leaks. That is probably your cause. Trouble is that when you replace head gaskets there are other problems associated with it like the cylinders slip down. Try what you want bu tif you pressure check coolant system you'll see a loss. When you push down heater control buttons it is giving hvac codes.

I sure hope that's not the problem, could there be anything else causing this? How would I check if it were a head gasket leak? I'm not sure if your talking about the codes I got when pushing the off and warmer buttons on the climate control at the same time. If so it read out (8.8.8)(..E)(E30)(.7.0)

The codes climate control codes not engine. A coolant pressure check will tell ifit's ahead gasket or not but I bet it would be a gasket.
