When problem is ongoing, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. Also check for injector pulse, engine cranking, if no pulse, check for voltage at injector, if that checks out, check for rpm signal, comes from crank sensor. You have dis ignition correct? Also check for mil trouble codes. You should be able to check those codes, yourself.
