Have you checked all main fuses under the hood? Is there a separate ground form the battery to one of the inner fenders? Have you checked to make sure the ground on the battery is good and where it connects to the engine block?

I have to be honest, replacing a distributor shouldn't have caused this. Something was moved or damaged while working on it. Check main fuses and let me know what you find.
