Wont start

I have a 1987 gmc vandura 5.7 litre engine. Engine turns over but will not start. Its getting spark and fuel. Checked manual. Notsure wat type ignition system it has. Any suggestions on this problem and wat component to test?

If both fuel and spark is present-check the valve and ignition timing, this will lead you to problems
with compression and valves opening and closing at the wrong time/broken or jumped timing
belt/chain.
