1987 thunderbird trunk latch won't keep trunk shut. What do we do.

Trunk latch manual or electric closer? anything look bent ,loose?

It's electric. We were able to open with the button in the glove compartment (key is missing). Until yesterday we could close the trunk and it would latch closed. Now it won't latch or stay closed. The latch looks stuck open (if that makes sense).

Check voltage on purple wire at trunk solenoid when button depressed. also check clock fuse. When latch operated as it was closed did it grab lid then slowely close?
