Irratic idle

I have a 1987 ford taurus with a 2.5 I have recently put new alternater plugs & wires & battery it now starts a little hard you have to pump it like a carberator then it runs very high rpms or it dies sometimes it runs perfectly normal any idea what is happening?

If all power was lost, there is a chance the computer has to relearn everything. As far as the idle, if it doesn't change, check the idle air control motor on the throttle body. Also, check for vacuum leaks.
