I just replaced the alternator and battery, it still dies, also it it a 4 speed and I cannot get it to come out of 2nd gear

try moving it with engine off and clutch not deperssed, if it moves it may be a clutch problem otherwise check your linkage going to trans.it cold be a broken cable as well. check yoru fuel pressure as well 41-47 psi.
