1986 Nissan Hardbody Been Problems Pickup First Set That Goin Through Fuel

I have been have problems with my 1986 nissan pickup. First set of problems is that I am goin through fuel filters plus it is acting like it is out of gas when it has gas. W hat should I do or how do I figure out what is causing it? I am also having problems with my motor I was at a red kight and it started shaking and back firing and sputtering then acted like it couldn't pull and quit running could that be my timing chain is broke or stretch or something?

if you are going through fuel filters then the tank needs to be dropped, flushed out new fuel pump and filter, lines flushed as well. it may solve all your issues. fuel pressure is critical to engine operation
